How Industry Overlays Actually Work

An industry overlay doesn't change how ReqDrive scores or writes a requirement — the EARS pattern enforcement and 6 IREB CPRE quality criteria apply identically regardless of which overlay is active, or whether one is active at all. What an overlay adds is domain-specific structure on top: pre-loaded terminology, the relevant standard's classification scheme (ASIL, SIL, DAL, Performance Level, and so on), and the specific traceability evidence an assessor in that industry will actually ask for.

This is why "General Software / SaaS," "Internal Tools & MVPs," and every other industry on this page sit in the exact same list — they're not lesser use cases bolted onto a compliance tool. They're simply the overlay set to "none."
